La Spezia is a proud city ,as it has one of Italy's major ,military and commerical ,harbours with a beautiful and active sea front, particularly in the summer months. It is a city with a proud, naval history ,which has many museums and cultural locations within it's modern appearance. We highly recommend the boat trips ,from La Spezia sea front ,which can take you to any destination along the Cinque Terre. It is well priced and you don't have to worry about parking. However ,if you do decide to follow the road out of the city ,towards Porto Venere ,you will experience some fantastic views of the area from the hills above.
